Nice photo, here in Australia there are some big spiders and they build beautiful webs. They are nice when covered in dew drops or like you have captured reflecting the golden sunlight.
I’ve been to Australia, and I’ve seen those huge spiders and their webs! My friend and I were hiking there, and I noticed a beautiful web just off the trail. Then I saw the spider inside the web (hand-sized?? Or is that my memory exaggerating the experience?). Then we noticed these webs and spiders were EVERYWHERE. It freaked us out at first, but then we were just fascinated by these huge creatures. The webs truly were beautiful. I’d love to see one in the sunlight.
I suppose it depends on the size of your hands. The Orb Spider would be the size of a toddlers hand. There are many different Aussie spiders most of them are harmless but some are deadly the Funnel-web, the Trapdoor are the worst the Redback is a popular villen but its bite is not usually fatal, their prevalance as well as they like to live in places round the home that is the problem. There is a song writen about them, you probably heard it when you visited here.
Thanks, Andrew. I was curious if it would turn out… it was the middle of the day, in bright sunshine. Not an ideal spiderweb photo situation, but I love the effect.

Gorgeous shot – no more practice required!
Thank you!
Wow, I don’t think you need much more “practice”. This one is beautiful!
Thanks!
I am still working on getting a photograph of a spider web of the quality as shown here.
🙂
love the light values in this shot.
